The College of Central Florida Softball team begins their 2026 season with a matchup at home vs State College of Florida on Saturday. They will play a double header starting at noon. With new head coach Rick Walker, the Pats are poised to get back to the post season after not making it last season. 

Returning sophomores this year for the Pats are Mary Day Elsenrath (OF), Lusmari Segura (IF), Abbie Roach (OF), and Madison McCabe (C). There will be 11 freshman on the roster this year. 

After opening weekend the Patriots will play in the annual Florida JUCO Kickoff Classic at ROC Park in Madeira Beach, FL. On Friday they will play the US Air Force Academy team at 11:30 AM and Pensacola State at 4:30 PM. Then on Saturday they will play Georgia Military College at 11:30 AM and Walters State COmmunity College at 4:30 PM.
