Pioneers Take Down Pats in Citrus Conference Matchup

OCALA, FL – The College of Central Florida faced Indian River State College in a home doubleheader on March 14, 2026, in Ocala, FL. The Patriots dropped both matchups, falling 13-1 in the opener and 3-1 in the second game.

Game 1: IRS 13, CF 1 (5 Innings) Indian River State College took control of the first game immediately, putting up six runs in the first inning and four more in the second. The Patriots' offense was limited, with Payton Livingston recording the team's only RBI of the contest.

In the circle, Alexis Meneely (1-6) pitched all 5.0 innings for the Patriots, allowing 11 hits and 13 runs, eight of which were earned. The defense struggled to support her, committing three total errors.

Game 2: IRS 3, CF 1 Game two was a much tighter defensive battle. CF pitcher Tiara Chavis (6-6) delivered a complete-game effort, throwing 7.0 innings while allowing nine hits, three earned runs, and striking out two batters.

However, the Patriots' offense was largely held in check, managing only two hits against Indian River's Emma Eekhoff, who struck out seven across 7.0 innings. Naomi Meyer scored the Patriots' lone run of the game, and Hope Jordan was credited with the RBI. Indian River secured the 3-1 victory after scoring two runs in the second inning and adding an insurance run in the fifth

The Patriots fall to 10-16 overall and 2-10 in Citrus Conference play. They will look to rebound as they next play at home on Tuesday at 2 pm vs St Petersburg College as they contnue their Citrus Conference schedule.
