OCALA, FL – The College of Central Florida softball team swept a doubleheader against Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ). The Patriots relied on a masterful shutout performance in the opener before mounting a late-inning comeback to secure the game two victory.

The first game of the afternoon was defined by the dominance of Tiara Chavis in the circle. Chavis tossed a complete-game shutout to lead the Patriots to a 4-0 victory. She surrendered only five hits over seven innings while striking out seven and walking just one.
The Patriots' offense provided Chavis with early support in the bottom of the second inning. Hope Jordan followed up with an RBI of her own to push the lead to 3-0.
CF added an insurance run in the fourth when Livingston singled in Roach. Livingston finished the game 3-for-4 with two RBIs, providing the bulk of the offensive spark for the Patriots.
Game 2: CF 7, FSCJ 5
In the second game the Patriots overcame an early deficit to win 7-5. FSCJ jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning, putting the Patriots on their heels early.
