The College of Central Florida Patriots softball team hit the road early on Saturday morning to play in Miami at Miami Dade college. The Sharks currently sit in 5th place in the Citrus conference with a 22-16 conference record and split with the Pats twice earlier in the season.
Game 1: CF 4 - MDC 7
The Pats got off to their usual early lead by scoring two in the first on Madison VanAllen's single and a steal of home by Leah Clark. The Pats couldn't contain the Shark offense in this one though as they scored one in the third, two in the fifth and four in the fifth. Starter, Morgyn Stevens, gave up eleven hits and seven runs (only four earned). Amy Crosby also doubled in a run in the fifth.
Game 2: CF 9 - MDC 2
VanAllen once again led the Pats at the plate collecting three hits in the game two victory. Gabrielle Rascher continued to stay hot at the plate and drove in the first two runs in the first inning.
VanAllen also pitched game two and held the Sharks in check for seven innings. She gave up only two runs on seven hits.
The Pats offense blasted 16 hits in the game with Rascher and VanAllen both collecting three each. Amber Daugherty, Sarah Stewart, and Raegan Geiger all had two hits.
CF will finish up their season on Monday at home vs Seminole State. The Lady Pat Sophomores will be recognized before the game which starts at 2 pm.
