The College of Central Florida (CF) Patriots completed a dominant three-game series sweep against the St. Petersburg College (SPC) Titans on March 12 and 13, 2026. The Patriots displayed a potent combination of late-game heroics, balanced offensive attacks, and shutdown pitching to secure three straight victories.

Game 1: Martinez Walk-Off Home Run Gives Pats 8-7 Win

The series opened on March 12 with a back-and-forth battle that saw the Patriots edge out the Titans 8-7. The Patriots' offense was ignited by Ignacio Salaverria, who launched a three-run home run in the fifth inning. Victor Martinez was the star of the night, finishing 3-for-4 with a double and two home runs. His second home run was a dramatic walk-off solo shot in the bottom of the ninth inning to break a 7-7 tie and secure the win. Balint Piros also had a standout game, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Game 2: Bello Shines in Relief as CF Wins

In the first game of a March 13 doubleheader, the Patriots took advantage of five SPC errors to claim an 8-4 victory. Jose Correa set the tone at the top of the lineup, going 3-for-4 and scoring three runs. Ignacio Salaverria remained hot, contributing two hits, three runs, and a stolen base. Victor Martinez continued his productive series by driving in three runs. On the mound, Richard Bello provided stellar relief, striking out six batters and allowing only one hit over 3.1 scoreless innings to earn the win.

Game 3: Jung Dominates in Shutout Victory

The Patriots finished the sweep in style with a 10-0 "mercy rule" victory in six innings during game two on March 13. The offense provided plenty of support with home runs from Bruno Schafer and Brett House, the latter of whom finished with three RBIs. Balint Piros was perfect at the plate, going 1-for-1 with two walks and three RBIs. However, the story of the game was pitcher Jay Jung, who threw a complete-game shutout. Jung surrendered only two hits and struck out five Titans over six dominant innings to seal the series sweep.

The three-game sweep moves the Patriots into second place in the Citrus Conference at 11-4. They will next play at home on Tuesday vs Pasco Hernando State College at 3 pm.
