LAKE CITY
Freshman Aidian Cordero Santana led the Lady Patriots with a season best time of 23:02 during the FGC Invitational in Lake City on October 10.
The ladies competed at the same park as last week but this time ran a different route. Each runner dropped an impressive amount of time from her previous race.
Cordero took off 55 seconds equating to an 18-second per mile pace drop. She paced with teammates Concepcion Fradera (23:07) and Taylor Yancey (23:11) who both set their lifetime bests.
In a post-race recap, Concepcion Fradera detailed her experience, 'I think sticking with a group works so well for me. Running with Aidian and Taylor has been so amazing. The way we push each other and encourage each other as we run, I think helps a ton." Fradera covered the course 1:11 faster than last week and 10 seconds faster than her race here last season. She has beat her high school bests several times.
Yancey dropped 1:20, Zell 1:32, Fugate 1:41, Taylor 0:56, and Giraldo 4:16.
The ladies look to clock even faster times when they head to Tallahassee for the FCSAA Regional Championship on Friday, October 24. Go Patriots!
