Pats Outrun Three Region Rivals
TALLAHASSEE, Florida 
 

The Lady Patriots raced under the lights of Apalachee Regional Park in the HOKA Nights of Thunder XC Fest on Friday, September 12.  The Pats outran three other Florida NJCAA schools - Tallahassee State, Chipola, and Florida Gateway.  The Patriots finished tenth in a field of 16 schools. 

Adrienne Bunn led her teammates setting a new PR of 23:11, improving her time from last week by 7 seconds. Freshman Aidian Cordero Santana followed in a collegiate season best of 24:01, dropping 1:17 off of her time. Taylor Yancey ran 24:45 (-0:25) pacing with Concepcion Fradera 24:54 (-2:32).  Rylee Zell was the fifth Lady Patriot to the finish in 28:45 (-2:32). Gabby Fugate (-3:03), Hayden Taylor (-3:27), Camila Castro (-2:39) and Andrea Giraldo (-1:14) all also raced to season bests. 
 
The Patriots look to their next race with great excitement as the momentum they have built continues to grow. Next up will be the Alligator Lake Invitational at Alligator Lake Park in Lake City on October 3. The Pats will then again race this course the following Friday at the FGC Invite. 
 
On Friday, October 24 the Patriots will return to Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee to run the FCSAA Region 8 Championships. This race will be a morning race where the ladies look to beat the times they just raced under the lights.
