Sophomore Adrienne Bunn led the Lady Patriots in their 2025-2026 season opener at the VSU Border Clash.  Bunn clocked a 23:18 just 6 seconds away from her personal best. 

Her time was the fastest Patriot season-opening race time over the past four seasons. 

Freshman Taylor Yancey followed in 25:10. Aidian Cordero Santana raced to a 25:28 in her collegiate debut. Concepcion Fradera ran a 27:26, and Rylee Zell ran a 31:17 to round out the top 5.  Sophomore, Gabby Fugate, was next followed by freshman newcomers Hayden Taylor, Camila Castro, Andrea Giraldo, and Alana Fielding. 

The ladies placed 8 of 13 teams among a field of NCAA DII, NJCAA, and NAIA teams.  The Patriots will race next at Apalachee Regional Park on September 12 during the Hoka Nights of Thunder in Tallahassee, which is the site of the FCSAA Championship later in the season.
