Cross Country Celebrates a Record-Breaking Season

CF Cross Country celebrated an unforgettable record-breaking season that made school history. These powerhouse women earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors with a 3.8 team average GPA.  The ladies broke the school 5k and Half Marathon records this season as well as the team averages in both events.  Isabella Mesa earned NJCAA DII Athlete of the Week Honors mid-October as she ran to a school record. She went on to lower the record even more clocking a 22:03 at NJCAA Nationals in Virginia. The five fastest CF 5k times were run this season.  A new Half Marathon school record was set by Magda Barcia as she covered 13.1 miles in 7:32 pace.

Standout Nursing student, Iraly Faria, was recognized as the Bob Zelinski Scholar Athlete of the Year, Magda Barcia as the MVP, Concepcion Fradera as the Most Improved Runner of the Year, Adrienne Bunn as the Patriot Award, and Allison Robb as the Scholar Athlete.

The team looks to drop even quicker times this coming fall when they open their season the first weekend in September.
