OCALA-- College of Central Florida women's volleyball team went 2-2 at the HCC Invitational Friday and Saturday in Tampa.

NJCAA No. 11/ FCSAA No. 4 Lady Patriots (8-5, 1-1 MFC) opened up the two-day event against reigning national champions Miami Dade College, who swept CF in straight sets 25-23, 25-21, 25-23. Marina Cruz recorded her second consecutive double-double of the season with 13 kills and 12 digs. Buse Ene (five kills, 15 digs), Veronica Brod Farias (eight kills), Carolin Santa (seven kills), Nayrelis Pantojas (16 digs) and Julia Cardoso (30 assists) backed Cruz in the loss. 

CF rounded out day one with a five-set loss to San Jacinto College (TX) 23-25, 25-22, 25-27, 25-19, 9-15. Ene led the offensive attack with a season-high 16 kills, while Brod Farias added 12 kills and Taynan Paiva had 10. Pantojas (14 digs) and Yomaries Villegas (13 digs) held down the back line while Julia Cardoso recorded 38 assists up front. 

The Lady Patriots rebounded to finish day 2-0, sweeping State College of Florida-Manatee (25-15, 25-18, 25-19) and Hillsborough Community College (25-11, 25-14, 25-12).

Santa (19 digs, eight kills) paced CF to a win against SCF, while Cruz and Brod Farias each added 10 kills each. Against HCC, Cruz recorded her third double in three days with 12 kills and 11 digs. Ene led all attackers with 13 kills, while Pantojas laid out 17 digs. 

CF will back on the court when they travel to Eastern Florida State College on Tuesday. Match is set for 7 p.m. in Melbourne.
