Patriots Overpower TNXL Academy in High-Scoring Game

On Saturday, January 31 the Patriots hosted the TNXL Academy Ducks in Ocala and delivered an offensive production, winning 18-7. The CF bats were relentless, tallying 20 hits.

  • Offensive Standouts: Bruno Schafer led the charge with a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the plate, driving in four runs. Victor Martinez was equally productive, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs, while Brett House crossed the plate four times during a 3-hit night.

  • On the Mound: Colson Altman earned the win, striking out three batters over 2 innings of work out of the pen.

Gritty Road Victory Against University of Tampa JV

The Patriots continued their winning ways on February 3 with a hard-fought 7-6 victory over the University of Tampa JV. Unlike the previous blowout, this game required timely hitting and a strong relief effort to secure the win on the road.

  • Key Contributors: Talan Beckford anchored the offense from the top of the lineup, recording three hits and two stolen bases. Juan Concepcion provided some power with a double and two RBIs, while Jose Correa added two hits and an RBI.

  • Pitching: Lance Hartley earned the win after throwing a pre determined two perfect innings to start the game, striking out three. Will Eaton (3 Inn), Kaiden Lopep (1 Inn) and Jose Paniagua (1 Inn) all threw scoreless in relief. Paniagua secured the save in the 9th with the tying run 90 feet away to give the Patriots' their second straight win and third of the season.

Marty Smith Nears Historic Milestone

With these two victories, the Patriots have also brought their legendary leader to the brink of a historic achievement. The NJCAA Hall of Famer Marty Smith is now just one game away from his 1,000th career win as the head coach of the College of Central Florida Patriots. The team will look to secure this milestone for their coach in their next outing at home vs South Florida State at 1 pm.
