The College of Central Florida Patriots (34-16) baseball team was three outs away from taking two out of three games from the Indian River State College Pioneers (34-14) on Saturday during the final weekend of conference play, but was ruined by a Pioneers ninth inning comeback. The Pats will head back to Ft. Pierce this weekend in the FCSAA regional playoffs as the #6 seed looking for a little revenge over the #3 seeded Pioneers. The winner of the best of three series will move on to the FCSAA State Final Four in Port Charlotte the weekend of May 9-12.

The Patriots' last appearance in the state final four was in 2023 when they won their second state championship in a row and then were later crowned national champions after dominating the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado. Indian Rivers' last appearance in the state final four was last season where they fell just short of winning a trip to the JUCO World Series.
