OCALA-- The College of Central Florida baseball team bounced back from a loss on Friday with a 5-2 victory over Palm Beach State in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday.
The Patriots fell behind 2-0 heading into the third inning, but scored four times in the frame to take control.
CF (4-1) was led by Ryan Aspinwall, who earned the win by scattering five hits over six innings. Aspinwall (1-0) struck out seven and didn't walk a batter.
Jacob Grenus finished up with a scoreless seventh for the save.
B.J. Harmon (2-for-2, run scored), Luke Heyer (1-for-3, run scored, RBI), Kevin Gomez (1-for-2, run scored) and Vincent Addona (1-for-2, RBI) led the way at the plate for CF.
The Patriots were out to make it a sweep, before the rain came on Saturday.
CF was up 2-0 through four complete innings when the game was called due to weather.
