Patriots rally past Lakehawks

Ocala, FL-- The College of Central Florida baseball team made Lake Sumter State pay for its mistakes on Monday afternoon in a Mid-Florida Conference matchup.

The Patriots (24-13, 8-4) took advantage of three errors in the seventh inning by the Lakehawks (15-17, 2-13) and scored twice in the frame on their way to a 7-6 win.

CF has now won three straight conference games and six of its last seven.

Collin Woody threw three scoreless innings to close the game for the win in a game that saw CF score five times in the second for a 5-0 lead, before the Lakehawks battled back to go in front.

Colby Brown (2 for 3, run scored, RBI), Christian Khawam (1 for 3, two runs scored, RBI), Enderson Velasquez (2 for 4, RBI), David Lugo (2 for 4, run scored, triple) and N.J. Williamson (1 for 4, run scored, RBI) led the way at the plate for the Patriots, who visit Daytona State on Wednesday afternoon.
