OCALA-- The College of Central Florida volleyball team defeated State College of Florida in straight sets on Tuesday night at Patriot Gym.

The Lady Patriots made quick work of the Manatees in the first two sets, 25-20, 25-16, with Ocala native Yomaries Villegas serving eight consecutive times to put CF ahead 8-0 to start the second set.

In the third set, CF found itself down 19-23. A 3-0 run and a service ace from Ana Arsenic tied things up at 23-23. CF would go on to secure a 3-0 win over SCF with a 28-26 third-set win.

With the win, the FCSAA No. 6 Lady Patriots improve to 8-6 on the season.

Outside hitter Carolin Santa notched her fifth double-double of the season with 11 kills and 17 digs on the night. Amanda Lebioda (8 kills) and Oda Stray Hommee (6 kills) backed Santa in the win. Villegas recorded a career-high seven aces and 18 digs, while Kariema Rodriquez added 10 digs.

CF will rest up for a big weekend as they head down to Miami for the Miami Dade College Invitational. The Lady Patriots will play SCF (Noon) and national champions Miami Dade College (3 p.m.) on Friday, followed by Florida State College at Jacksonville (10 a.m.) and Palm Beach State College (1 p.m.) on Saturday.
