#CFVB GOES 1-1 AT SANTA FE TRI-MATCH

OCALA— The College of Central Florida women's volleyball team went 1-1 at the Santa Fe College tri-match on Saturday afternoon in Gainesville. 

The Lady Patriots opened up the day with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-17) win over Florida Gateway College. Sophomore Carolin Santa tied her career-high with 14 kills and three aces while Marina Cruz added 10 kills. Kariema Rodriguez recorded a team best 18 digs. 
 
Second match of the day provided a five-set thriller against the undefeated FCSAA No. 2 Santa Fe College.
 
The Saints struck first with a 25-22 first-set win. CF and SF would trade set wins, with the Saints dropping the Patriots 15-7 in the fifth set to take it 3-2 (22-25, 25-23, 23-25, 26-24, 7-15) and remain undefeated. 
 
Veronica Brod Farias led CF at the net with 13 kills and six total blocks (5 solo), while Santa (12 kills) and Cruz (11 kills) both recorded double-digit kills for a second-straight game. Rodriguez joined the FCSA 25 Dig Club with a season-high 30 digs and Lily Jackson recorded 47 assists in the loss. 
 
The FCSAA No. 7 Lady Patriots drop to 5-6 on the season as CF prepares for a pair of home games this coming week. The Lady Patriots will welcome Florida State College at Jacksonville on Tuesday at 7 p.m., followed by St. Petersburg College on Thursday at 7 p.m.
