#CFVB DEFEATS LAKEHAWKS

OCALA--The College of Central Florida volleyball team defeated Lake-Sumter State College 3-1 on Tuesday night at Patriot Gym to improve to 3-2 on the season.

The Lady Patriots took a 1-0 lead after defeating the LakeHawks 25-17 in set one, but LSSC capitalized on Patriot errors to even the score 1-1. Andressa Souza Costa had her way with the LakeHawks recording 12 kills in the final two sets to help lead CF to 25-13, 25-16 set victories and the win. Souza Costa finished the night with a .526 hitting percentage.

Returner right side hitter Marina Cruz led the Patriot offense with a season-high 15 kills, two shy of her career-high, and completed the double-double with a career-high 16 digs. Kariema Rodriguez recorded her second double-double of the season with 10 kills and a season-high 17 digs. Ocala native Yomaries Villegas recorded 18 digs and Ana Arsenic notched 50 assists on the night.

CF will be back in action on Friday and Saturday when it travels to Winter Haven for the Polk State College Invitational. The Lady Patriots will play four matches in two days, including defending national champions Miami Dade College.

CF will be back at home on September 11 when it hosts Florida State College at Jacksonville at 7 p.m.
