OCALA-- The College of Central Florida women's volleyball team capped off the season with two final wins on Sophomore Day at Patriot Gym on Saturday.

The Lady Patriots (18-7), ranked second in the state and 15th in the nation, defeated State College of Florida 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 25-19, 25-16) before sweeping St. Johns River State College 25-14, 25-15, 25-10 in the night cap.

Sophomore Kristin Schemm led the charge against SCF, recording her third double-double of the season with a career-high 15 kills and 14 digs. Taynan Paiva added 11 kills and Nayrelis Panatojas recorded a career-high 27 digs.

Against St. Johns, Viktorija Sataric recorded her first double-double as a Patriot with 28 assists and 10 digs. Schemm had another double-digit outing with 11 kills while Mid-Florida Conference First Team All-Conference selection Buse Ene added 10 kills.

The Lady Patriots now turn their attention to the FCSAA Volleyball State Tournament.

CF opens up against Santa Fe College on November 3 at 1 p.m. at the Bradenton Civic Center. The tournament is a double-elimination event. If CF wins, they will play the winner of St. Petersburg College and Palm Beach State College. A loss would pit a matchup against the loser of SPC-PBSC. Click here for the tournament website.
