ENE, BROD FARIAS NAMED TO MFC FIRST TEAM

OCALA-- College of Central Florida volleyball team landed four players on the Mid-Florida Conference All-Conference teams after clinching their seventh-straight conference title a week ago.

Two-time FCSAA Player of the Week Buse Ene and Veronica Brod Farias were named to MFC First Team, while Taynan Paiva and Julia Cardoso received second team all-conference honors.

Ene, a two-time first team all-conference honoree, has played in 22 matches for the Lady Patriots, notching 183 total kills and 199 digs on the season. She recorded a season-high 22 kills and 20 digs in a five-set victory over conference rival Daytona State College. Ene has recorded five total double-doubles on the year.

Newcomer Brod Farias has been dominant at the net for the Lady Patriots this season. She has recorded 188 total kills and 85 total blocks (53 assist, 32 solo) in 23 matches this year. Brod Farias had a season-high 13 kills against Daytona in the five-set dual. 

Paiva and Cardoso have also been rocks for CF over the course of the season. 

Paiva has appeared in 23 matches and has recorded 143 kills and 66 total blocks. Cardoso has notched 795 total assists on the year, with a season-high 54 assists against Daytona. She has recorded nine double-doubles on the year and received FCSAA Setter of the Week honors once this season.

CF hosts one more tri-match on Saturday for Sophomore Day to close out the regular season. Matches are set for 1, 3, and 5 p.m. CF will play State College of Florida at 1 p.m. and honor its five sophomores prior to the St. Johns River State College match at 5 p.m.
