OCALA-- College of Central Florida women's volleyball team swept Palm Beach State College and Pensacola State College in straight sets on Saturday afternoon at Patriot Gym.
FCSAA No. 2 Lady Patriots (16-7) faced Palm Beach State in the first of three matches on the day, blanking the Panthers 25-19, 25-20, 25-17.
Marina Cruz led the offensive attack with eight kills, while FCSAA Player of the Week Buse Ene and Taynan Paiva each added five kills. At the net, Veronica Brod Farias recorded three assist blocks and Paiva had two solo blocks.
Palm Beach and Pensacola faced off in the middle match of the day before the Lady Patriots took the court against Pensacola.
An hour and some change was CF needed to down PSC 25-12, 25-10, 25-16 to finish 2-0 on the day.
Cruz led the way again with nine kills. Ene notched 14 digs and five kills, while setter Julia Cardoso recorded her tenth double-double of the year with 26 assists and 10 digs. Brod Farias was dominant at the net with five total blocks (3 solo, 2 assists).
CF will host their final matches of the season on Saturday when they welcome State College of Florida and St. Johns River State College for a tri-match at 1, 3, and 5 p.m. This is sophomore day for the Lady Patriots. They will honor their five sophomores prior to the 5 p.m. match against St. Johns.
