#CFVB rolls past FSCJ

OCALA--NJCAA No. 10/FCSAA No. 3 College of Central Florida volleyball team improved to 2-0 after a 3-1 road win at Florida State College at Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon.  

The Lady Patriots got off to a slow start, dropping the first set 23-25. Sets two, three and four were a different story as they held the Blue Wave to a combined 35 points to defeat FSCJ 23-25, 25-11, 25-11, 25-13.

Marina Cruz (12 kills), Buse Ene (11 kills), Veronica Brod Farias (9 kills) and Taynan Paiva (8 kills) led the offensive attack for CF. As a team, CF's front row combined for 14 total blocks.

Julia Cardoso recorded her first double-double as a Patriot with 46 assists and 12 digs, while Nayrelis Pantojas notched 12 digs.

CF will take the week off before traveling to Idaho for the ever-tough College of Southern Idaho Invitational. The Lady Patriots will play four games in two days, including national powerhouses Salt Lake Community College, College of Southern Idaho, and Northwest College.
