Volleyball defeats Eastern Florida in straight sets

OCALA—The College of Central Florida volleyball team rolled to a straight-sets victory over Eastern Florida State College Thursday evening in Melbourne.

The Lady Patriots, ranked No. 3 in the state and No. 10 in NJCAA, defeated the Titans 25-21, 25-21, 25-16 to improve to 6-3 on the season.

CF appeared to be in control in the first set, but found themselves down 1-8 to start the second set due to service and net errors.

"We still have a lot of work to do," said head coach Flavia Siqueira. "Communication and discipline are still issues that need to be fixed. We will continue to work hard to improve every day and get ready for conference."

CF freshman outside hitter Buse Ene led the attack with 11 kills, followed by Nathaly Alvarez with six. Alvarez, the FCSAA Setter of the Week, also added 25 assists. As a team, the Patriots recorded seven aces and 36 digs.
