CF Volleyball downs Lake-Sumter in straight sets, 2-0 in MFC play

LEESBURG- The College of Central Florida volleyball program had no trouble with Lake-Sumter State on Thursday night.

The Patriots (11-5, 2-0) won their fifth straight match and continued their all-time unbeaten mark over the LakeHawks in a 25-18, 25-10, 25-15 win.

Rafa Fonseca (12 kills) and Yara Rodriguez (16 digs) paced CF in the sweep.

CF has won 10 of its last 12 matches after a 1-3 start. 

The Patriots have never lost a match to Lake Sumter in their five years of existence and stayed atop the MFC with rival Santa Fe (14-2, 2-0).

The Lady Patriots now head back on the road for a two-day tournament at Polk State College starting today and going through Saturday. CF will kick things off against Polk State at 2 p.m., followed by State College of Florida at 4 p.m. On Saturday, they will one match versus Miami Dade College at 2 p.m.
