CF Volleyball downs rival Daytona State in straight sets

DAYTONA BEACH- The College of Central Florida volleyball team got off to a strong start with a sweep of Daytona State in its Mid-Florida Conference opener on Tuesday evening.

The Patriots (10-5, 1-0) earned a 25-21, 27-25, 25-17 win over the Falcons.

CF has never lost a match to DSC in Daytona during its history.

Rafaela Fonseca (eight kills, five blocks), Julia Azevedo (11 kills), Jussara Silva (10 kills, four blocks) and Nathaly Alvarez (40 assists) paced the Patriots in the sweep.

CF has won its last four matches and nine of 11 after a 1-3 start.
