#17 Central Florida downs #6 Missouri State, #13 San Jacinto

MIAMI- The College of Central Florida volleyball team (NJCAA No. 17/FCSAA No. 5) rolled to a pair of victories against NJCAA ranked opponents, No. 6 Missouri State-West Plains and No. 13 San Jacinto, on Friday in the Miami Dade College Invitational.

The Patriots (8-5) opened the event with a 25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19 victory over Missouri State-West Plains before dropping San Jacinto (Tex.) in four sets (27-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-21).

In the opener, Rafaela Fonseca (16 kills, 15 digs), Julia Azevedo (18 kils) and Nathaly Alvarez (51 assists) led the way for the Patriots. 

Fonseca paced the Patriots in the second match versus San Jacinto, recording a season-high 21 kills and adding 11 digs, while Azevedo (19 kills), Alvarez (43 assists) and Jussara Silva (11 blocks) also posted strong outings. 

CF rounds out the Miami Dade Invitational against Florida State College at Jacksonville today 10 a.m.
