CF Volleyball goes 3-1 at Tournament of Champions

JACKSONVILLE- The College of Central Florida volleyball team went 3-1 this past weekend at the Tournament of Champions on the campus of Florida State College of Jacksonville.

On Friday, the Patriots swept Johnson County Community College 25-17, 25-18, 25-16 to start, before downing No. 12 Monroe Community College 25-23, 25-23, 25-17 to close out the night.

In the opener, CF was led by Jasmyn Perry (10 kills), Kadeeja Griffin (10 kills) and Yara Rodriguez (19 digs). Perry and Griffin committed just one error apiece in the rout.

From there, CF got 13 kills in just two sets from Julymar Otero and seven kils from Marcela Frazzoni versus Monroe.

As a team, the Patriots had 39 digs and 14 blocks on the day.

The Lady Patriots opened up agains No.1 Iowa Western on Saturday, losing in straight sets before bouncing back and downing Northeaster Junior College in straight sets (25-20, 25-18, 25-15).

CF is back on the court tomorrow night at 7 p.m. versus St. Johns.
