OCALA-- After Tuesday's nerve-wracking win over Daytona State, the College of Central Florida volleyball team was able to breathe easier against Lake Sumter State.
The Patriots (13-3, 2-0) needed a little over an hour to sweep the LakeHawks 25-10, 25-10, 25-12 on Thursday night at CF gym.
CF trailed only once in the match, 1-0 in the second set, on its way to totally dominating LSSC (3-15, 0-2).
"We know that we have to continue to improve both as a team and as indivduals,"CF coach Flavia Siqueira said.
In the opener, the Patriots raced out to a 9-3 lead and were never threatened, before following that up with a 14-3 to close the second set.
From there, CF jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the third set and cruised.
The Patriots will return to action on Tuesday night at 7 with a home match against FSC-Jacksonville.
CF knocked off the Blue Wave in five sets earlier this season in Miami.
The Patriots have never lost to FSC-J in four years of competition.
