Melosky's buzzer beater lifts CF over St. Pete

OCALA--College of Central Florida women's basketball player Amanda Melosky drained a jumper with two seconds remaining to break the tie and lift CF over St. Petersburg College 73-71 on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Patriots traveled to St. Pete for a crucial conference match up against the Titans. A win would solidify at least third place in the conference and a chance for a third-straight trip to the state tournament.

CF entered the fourth quarter up 51-49. After a back-and-forth affair, the Patriots and Titans were all tied up at 71-71, but CF had the ball with two seconds remaining.

Kiarah Mallory inbounded the ball to Melosky who drained the jumper and gave CF the win.

Nicola Mathews led the offensive charge with 17 points, while Melosky added 16 and Marcella Lamark dos Santos and Shakarri Mack each had nine points.
