OCALA--Facing a Daytona State team that came in at 20-1, the College of Central Florida women's basketball team knew it would need a great effort in order to pull out a win.
In the early going, the Patriots had the Falcons' number, as they held DSC without a field goal for over five minutes to start the game, but were unable to keep up the pace.
CF saw Daytona make 11-of-23 shots from 3-point range and fell to the Falcons 75-64 on Wednesday night.
The Patriots led by three after the opening quarter, but DSC held a 27-10 edge in the second. Daytona made 8-of-16 from 3-point range and led by as many as 16 in the second half.
CF got as close as seven in the final quarter, however, the Falcons were able to keep things under control.
The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for CF.
The Lady Patriots will be back on the court next Wednesday, February 3 as they travel to Santa Fe to hopefully avenge an earlier loss to the Saints. Tip off will be at 6 p.m.
