Women's Basketball stumbles against Eastern Florida

MELBOURNE--The College of Central Florida women's basketball team suffered a tough road loss at the hands of Eastern Florida State.

The short-handed Patriots fell 84-61 to the Titans in a battle of state tournament teams from a year ago.

CF (1-2) was led by standout post player Thais Oliveira (22 points). Fernanda Madaglia (13 points) and Amanda Melosky (eight points) also contributed for the Patriots.

EFS has now won two of the last three games against CF, including both matchups in Melbourne.

"We didn't play well at all," CF coach Tommy Jones said. "We got what we deserved tonight."

The Patriots will return to action on Friday afternoon at 4 against Miami Dade College in the CF Shootout.

In all, there will be four games on both Friday and Saturday at CF.

The CF men will not play on Friday, but will play on Saturday afternoon at 4, while the CF women will take on IMG on Saturday night at 8.
