DAYTONA BEACH- The College of Central Florida women's basketball team earned a 46-33 win over Indian River State in the Daytona State Classic on Friday night.
It was the second win of the season for CF this season over the Pioneers. The 33 points allowed were the fewest given by the Patriots of the season, as they won for the third time in as many meetings with Indian River over the past two years.
CF routed IRSC the first time they faced in Ocala this season and will also face the Pioneers later this season.
For the Patriots, Oilveira continued her dominant play. She scored 22 points in the first meeting with IRSC and has led CF in scoring in each outing this season. Over her last two games, Oliveira has averaged 23 points per game.
Meanwhile, Demery has scored in double figures in each of the past two games, giving CF an impressive inside game.
The win extended the best start for CF since 2009-2010. The Patriots are now 5-2 on the year and will face Faulkner State (Ala.) on Saturday.
