DAYTONA BEACH- The College of Central Florida women's basketball team put it all together in an 85-49 rout of Faulkner (Ala.) State on Saturday afternoon.
"We are turning things around and playing the way that I want us to play," Patriots coach Tommy Jones said. "This was a good win for us.
"We did a lot of things well and hopefully we will continue to improve."
Up next for CF (5-2) is defending state champion and national semifinalist Chipola on Tuesday night on the road in Tallahassee.
"That's a big one for us," Jones said.
It will be the first meeting in two years between the Patriots and Indians. CF's last win over Chipola took place in December 2009.
The Patriots will enter the matchup with the Indians and state player of the year Evelyn Akhator on a hot streak.
In going 2-0 at Daytona State College over the weekend, Thais Oliveira continued her strong play with 18 points. Oliveira, CF's leading scorer, has produced double figure scoring outputs in all seven of her team's games this season.
It was the second straight win for the Patriots, who are 4-0 in neutral site games this season.
