#CFMBB DEFEATS ASA-MIAMI, IMPROVES TO 6-0

OCALA—The College of Central Florida men's basketball team remains undefeated after defeating ASA-Miami on Sunday afternoon at Patriot Gym.

CF (6-0) went into the half trailing 35-30, but came marching back in the second half, outscoring the Silverstorm 14-4 in the opening minutes and never looked back. The Patriots went on to win it 76-69.

As a team, CF shot 55 percent from the field and held ASA to just 35 percent, while outrebounding the Silverstorm 42-30.

Four Patriot players finished in double figures, with transfer forward Ryan Layman leading the offensive attack with a season-high 15 points. Rajan Barnes, one of only two returners for the Patriots this season, grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and finished with 12 points. Latrell Jones (14) and Jaron Williams (10) also finished in double figures, while East Carolina transfer Jeremy Sheppard notched five steals on the day.

The CF men basketball team will return to the court November 23-24 when it hosts Chipola College and Indian River State College for the Thanksgiving Shootaround at Patriot Gym. The Patriots will tipoff against Chipola on Friday at 8 p.m. and Indian River on Saturday at 6 p.m. There will be a game two hours prior to CF's game each night.
