OCALA—The College of Central Florida men's basketball team rolled past Hillsborough Community College 94-68 on Tuesday night at Patriot Gym to improve to 2-0.
CF go out to an early 49-36 lead in the first half, shooting over 50 percent from the field. The Hawks answered back in the early going of the second half, cutting CF's lead to three, but the Patriots came charging back. CF led by as many as 32 in the rout.
As a team, the Patriots shot a staggering 92 percent from the free throw line, while finishing 49 percent from the field. Freshman wing Angelo Johnson shot a team high 19 points on the night, while Quenton Jackson (14), Latrell Jones (12), and Jaron Williams (11) also finished in double figures. Sophomore wing Rajan Barnes grabbed a career-high nine rebounds and Jones notched six.
CF will be back in action on Thursday night when it hosts St. Petersburg College at 7:30 p.m.
