CF and Eastern Florida entered the game tied atop the Mid-Florida Conference standings at 6-2, with CF holding the 2-0 head-to-head record.

The Titans came out hot in the early going, leading by as many 21 with 2:30 to go in the first half. CF went into the half down 46-27, but couldn't overcome the Titans' defense.

CF will have one final home game on Saturday, Feb. 17 when it welcomes Daytona State College for a conference doubleheader on sophomore night. Women will tipoff at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at 7:30.

CF now drops to 6-3 in conference play and second place in the Mid-Florida Conference.

Eastern Florida will have to drop a game and the Patriots will have to win its remaining three conference games in order to clinch the conference title.

If CF finishes second in the MFC, it will have to play the winner of the third and fourth place teams in a conference playoff game, with the winner of that game clinching the second and final conference spot in the upcoming FCSAA State Basketball Championships.

The state tournament is set for March 7-10, 2018 in Ocala at Patriot Gym.
