Men's Basketball falls to Daytona State

OCALA--The College of Central Florida men's basketball team got off to a rough start and was never able to get in the groove against Daytona State on Saturday afternoon.

The Patriots (16-5, 1-1) shot 25 percent in the opening half and trailed by 11 at intermission. They would go on to fall 72-55 at the hands of the Falcons.

For the game, CF made just 27.8 percent of its shots, which was compounded by a season-low 2-of-26 mark from 3-point range.

In the opening half, the Patriots missed all nine shots from long range.

CF was also outrebounded 53-27 by DSC.

The Patriots did manage to force 23 turnovers, but their struggles on offense were too much for them to overcome.

Eddy Polanco came off the bench to lead CF with 14 points, while Devaughn Jenkins scored 12. Malik Dunbar added nine points and seven rebounds.

The Patriots will host Polk State on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
