Men's Basketball routs ASA Miami, remains perfect at home

OCALA-- The College of Central Florida men's basketball wrapped up a successful week with an 80-65 rout of ASA College Miami on Sunday afternoon in the Florida Men's Colleges Shootout at CF.

With the win, CF (13-4) improved to 9-0 at home.

It was the third win in as many days for CF at Patriot Gym.

The 9-0 start is the best home start to a season since the 2012-13 season, which saw CF win the NJCAA National Championship.

The school record for consecutive wins for the Patriots is 33 from 2011-13.

On Sunday, CF had no trouble with the Silver Storm, as it downed the Miami area program for the second time this season.

Eddy Polanco (16 points), Brandon Tabb (12 points), K.J. Maura (11 points), Devaughn Jenkins (10 points), Iseoluwapo Jegede (10 points) and Malik Dunbar (eight points) led the way for CF.

The Patriots led by as many as 15 in the opening half and took a 40-28 lead into the break. From there, CF upped its lead to as many as 25 before a late charge by ASA.

The Patriots will return to action on December 30 at home against LaGuardia Community College at 1 p.m.
