OCALA-- The College of Central Florida men's basketball team rolled to a 91-77 win over State College of Florida-Manatee.
Eddy Polanco (25 points, 14-of-16 at the foul line), Malik Dunbar (17 points, nine rebounds), Allen Costley (15 points), Devaughn Jenkins (12 points, seven rebounds) and Kevin Maura (10 points, 11 assists) paced the Patriots.
CF (11-4) improved to 7-0 at home on the season.
The Patriots made 26-of-30 free throws and 30-of-63 from the floor, despite a 5-of-20 effort from beyond the 3-point arc.
Led by Maura, CF got numerous easy baskets in transition and added 23 points off 18 turnovers by SCF.
Down by five late in the first half, a 6-0 burst helped the Patriots take a 40-39 halftime edge.
From there, CF outscored SCF 23-12 over the first seven minutes after halftime and led by 12.
The Manatees (5-9) closed to within three, but the Patriots kept the pressure on and harassed SCF's outside game.
SCF made 9-of-22 from 3-point range in the first half, however, was limited to 4-of-15 after the break.
Costley scored 11 of his points after halftime, which backed the 17 scored by Polanco over the final 20 minutes.
Polanco made 10-of-12 from the foul line during the second half and helped the Patriots stretch their edge to as many as 14.
CF hosts Miami Dade on Saturday night at 8. The game closes out day one of the Florida Men's Colleges Shootout, which begins on Saturday at noon.
