Men's Basketball defeats Planet Athlete

TWIN FALLS-- The College of Central Florida men's basketball team got off to a strong start on its three-game Idaho trip. The Patriots (9-3) placed four players in double figures in an 83-57 rout of Planet Athlete on Thursday afternoon.

CF outscored PA 47-24 after halftime and opened up what was a three-point game at the break.

Eddy Polanco (24 points, four rebounds, four steals), Malik Dunbar (16 points, seven rebounds), Paul Turner (13 points, five rebounds) and Devaughn Jenkins (13 points, eight rebounds) led the way for the Patriots.

All of the offensive success was made possible by point guard K.J. Maura, who finished with 13 assists and didn't commit a turnover. Maura added six steals for CF.

CF held PA to 19-of-60 from the floor and enjoyed a 36-12 scoring edge in the paint. The Patriots also scored 24 points off 24 turnovers and would up 30-of-72 from the field. 

The Patriots will return to action in the Fischer's Technology Basketball Invitational at the College of Southern Idaho today at 4 p.m. against Western Wyoming. The game will be livestreamed here.
