OCALA--The College of Central Florida men's basketball team had no trouble with Hillsborough Community College on Tuesday night.
CF (3-2) raced to a 27-point halftime lead and led by as many as 33 on its way to an 86-62 win over the Hawks at Patriot Gym.
The Patriots never trailed on the night and improved to 3-0 at home this season.
CF snapped a two-game losing streak in a contest in which it was never challenged in.
Eight CF players scored in double figures.
Devaughn Jenkins (13 points, nine rebounds), Eddy Polanco (11 points, 10 rebounds, four assists), Malik Dunbar (11 points, eight rebounds, four blocked shots), Paul Turner (11 points, three rebounds), Nakia Rivers (11 points), Allen Costley (10 points, four rebounds) and Vasile Oagui (10 points, five rebounds) paced the Patriots in the win.
CF outrebounded HCC 51-38 after struggling on the boards in a pair of weekend road losses.
The Patriots made 7-of-15 from 3-point range, with six different players knocking down shots from beyond the arc.
Overall, CF made 28-of-62 shots. Kevin Maura added six assists and three steals for the Patriots.
CF is back in action at home on Thursday night at 7:30 against Monroe Community College.
