OCALA--The College of Central Florida men's basketball team won its fourth straight Mid-Florida Conference game on Saturday night with a 99-84 rout of FSC-Jacksonville.
The Patriots (20-7, 5-1) remained tied atop the MFC with Daytona State, who knocked off Santa Fe 88-76 on Saturday.
The Patriots led by 13 at halftime and cruised from there to improve to 2-0 against the Blue Wave this season.
CF has lost just once against FSC-J over the past four seasons.
The Patriots will host rival Santa Fe on Saturday night at 7:30. CF is 2-0 against the Saints this season and has won 19 of the last 21 meetings with their I-75 rival.
With three games left in the MFC regular season, CF and Daytona State are both three games ahead of third-place Santa Fe and a full six against FSC-J.
The Patriots will host Daytona State on February 18 as part of the final three-game rotation in MFC play.
The winner of the Mid-Florida Conference advances to the state tournament, while the runner-up during the regular season will have to navigate through the conference tournament. The No. 3 seed hosts the No. 4 seed with the winner facing the No. 2 seed.
Over the last six seasons, only CF and Daytona have won MFC titles with the last school other than those two being Santa Fe seven years ago.
