OCALA-- The College of Central Florida will host the Florida Men's Colleges Shootout over the weekend beginning on Saturday.
The Patriots, who also will host Palm Beach State on Friday night at 7:30, face Indian River State (Saturday, 8 p.m.) and Northwest Florida State (Sunday, 6 p.m.).
CF's game against NWFS is a rematch of the 2013 national championship game, won by the Patriots.
Other games include: Saturday: Gulf Coast-Eastern Florida (noon), State College of Florida-Tallahassee (2 p.m.), Hillsborough-Palm Beach State (4 p.m.), Northwest Florida State-Daytona State (6 p.m.).
On Sunday, games aside from CF's contest include: Palm Beach-Gulf Coast (noon), Daytona State-State College of Florida (2 p.m.), Tallahassee-Eastern Florida State (4 p.m.) and Indian River-Hillsborough (8 p.m.).
CF comes into the tournament at 10-4 and on a two-game winning streak.
Over the past two seasons, the Patriots have gone 5-1 in games over the shootout weekend.
In 2012, CF went 3-0 on its way to the NJCAA National Championship.
Last season, the Patriots knocked off Pensacola State and Miami Dade, before losing to Palm Beach State on the final night, which also ended a 33-game homecourt winning streak.
Prior to the Palm Beach State loss, the last home defeat for CF also took place in the event against Pensacola in 2011.
This year's event features some highly-regarded programs.
Aside from CF, Eastern Florida State and Daytona State were state tournament teams from a year ago.
This season, Northwest Florida State (No. 1), Tallahassee (No. 2), Eastern Florida State (No. 3), Palm Beach State (No. 8) and Gulf Coast (No. 10) join CF (No. 9) as teams ranked in the latest FCSAA Men's Basketball Coaches Poll.
