SWAINSBORO, GA.- The College of Central Florida men's basketball team made their first stop of a two-game swing in the Peach State a successful one with a 70-54 win over East Georgia State.
The Patriots got 16 points from Brandon Tabb and 14 from Terrell Rogers in a road win over the Bobcats. Tabb made 4-of-6 from 3-point range and combined with Miguel Reyes to make 7-of-10 from beyond the arc.
Over the past three games, Tabb has made 12-of-22 from behind the arc, while Reyes has made 6-of-8 from long range over his past two outings.
Earlier this month, Tabb made seven shots from 3-point range, the most in two seasons for a CF player since Rahsam Suarez made seven in a win over Hillsborough.
Rogers added five assists, while Corbyn Jackson ripped down nine rebounds.
In two games this week, Jackson has averaged 10 rebounds per game.
On Tuesday night against St. Petersburg, Jackson grabbed 11 rebounds, the most by a CF player this season.
Meanwhile, Rogers, CF's leading scorer on the year, has averaged 18.3 points over his last three games.
It was the second win of the season for CF over EGSC.
CF held EGSC's Jaquez Motley to just 13 points on 3-of-16 shooting, after he scored 27 in the Patriots' win in Ocala earlier this month.
This time around, CF got out to a 36-29 halftime lead and kept Motley from making an impact.
The Patriots will now visit high-scoring South Georgia State in Waycross, Ga., on Saturday. CF is 7-2 on the season and will look to extend its winning streak to three games.
