The College of Central Florida Patriots defeated the Pasco-Hernando State College Bobcats 9-4 in 11 innings on Sunday afternoon in New Port Richey.The Pats once again has to battle back from a deficit to earn the win. Down 4-0 in the sixth inning Jackson Taylor drove home Tre Hondras with a sacrifice fly to start the comeback. Garrett Wallace led off the seventh inning with his first home run of the season to make it 4-2. After Nick Calero scored on a wild pitch, Hondras singled in Miguel Useche to tie the game. The Pats bullpen held the Bobcats scoreless over the final seven innings with Kyle LaCalameto (3.1 IP, 0 Runs, 2 hits, 2 K), Troy Britts (2.2 IP, 1 hit, 0 Runs, 5 K) and Evan Michelson (1.1 IP, 0 hits, 0 Runs, 2 K, Win).The Pats broke the game wide open in the top of the 11th inning. Bobcat pitchers walked the bases loaded when Hondras drove home a run with a fielder's choice to give the Pats a 5-4 lead. Jeslyn Whitehead drove in two more with a single. Wallace then drove home Hondras and Whitehead to make it 9-4. Head Coach Marty Smith said "All the pitchers threw well today and our bullpen was great as usual." In Garrett Wallace's performance Coach Smith stated "Garrett barreled the ball really well for us today. It was good to see him get his first home run of the season."The Patriots next game is back at Goodlett Field in Ocala on Wednesday against The State College of Florida, Manatee. First pitch is at 2:30 PM.
