CF’s LaCalameto One Hits FSCJ

Kyle LaCalameto (5-0) was within one strike of throwing a five inning no hitter when Florida State College - Jacksonville's Jaden James hit a clean single to left field. The Pats won the game 14-0 in five innings due to the run rule. LaCalameto finished the day with twelve strikeouts and zero walks. "It felt great throwing all my pitches with command and striking out the first 9 batters. I have never thrown a no hitter so I was trying to see what it felt like. The baseball God didn't want my first No-no to come today so I have to just accept it and use it as fuel for my next start." said LaCalameto

The win improved CF's record to 28-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play. FSCJ falls to 4-16 and 0-9 in conference.

Jackson Taylor and Miguel Useche continued their hot hitting by combining for four hits and seven RBIs. Carlos Gonzalez hit one off the foul pole for his first home run of the season.

The Patriots play game two of the three game series on Saturday at FSCJ, 1:00 p.m.
