The College of Central Florida Patriots hosted Webber International University JV in a mid-week game before heading full steam into their Mid-Florida Conference schedule. The Patriots used six pitchers on the day to hold the Warriors to five hits while striking out twelve in their 9-2 victory. The win improved the #5 NJCAA Nationally ranked Patriots to 27-6. The Warriors dropped to 5-8.
The Pats offense was led by Garrett Wallace who collected three hits and two RBIs including his fourth home run of year. Spencer Stephens singled to drive in two runs and Jackson Taylor doubled in two runs. Nick Calero also added two RBIs with a single and a ground out. "I had to stay back on the slower pitching but was able to find some barrels and I was fortunate to get some timely hits" said Taylor.
Riley Huge (2-0) started and went a scheduled two innings, striking out four and not allowing a hit. Huge was credited with the win. Francisco Mateo (2 IP, 0H, 0R, 2K), Alfredo Caraballo (1 IP, 2H, 1R, 1K), Parker Seay (1 IP, 0H, 0R, 1K), Seth Baugh (2 IP, 1H, 0R, 2K) and Troy Britts (1 IP, 2H, 1R, 2K) tossed the final seven innings.
The schedule has the Patriots playing conference games in 18 of their next 19 games. This includes a three-game series against Florida State College – Jacksonville starting Friday with a 1:00 p.m. game on the road. The Pats will return home on Saturday to play FSCJ, 1:00 p.m. start
