OCALA-- The College of Central Florida baseball team extends its win streak to five after powering past Hillsborough Community College 12-3 on Monday afternoon at Goodlett Field. The Patriot offense exploded for a season-high 19 hits in the win.

After trailing 1-0 in the top of the first, freshman shortstop Oliver Regalado quickly evened the score with a RBI groundout. Hillsborough would pull ahead 2-1 in the top of the third off a wild pitch from freshman starter Alfredo Caraballo, but it was all CF from there.

Sophomore first baseman Nolan Machibroda jump-started the offensive onslaught with a two-RBI double to right field in the bottom of the third inning before giving way to back-to-back home runs from designated hitter James Nix (2-run homer) and third baseman Ricky Presno (solo) in the fourth inning.

Two innings later, the Patriots denied any possible Hawk rally by plating five runs in the sixth, including a three-run home run from freshman second baseman Myles Colangelo, CF's third home run on the day.

Colangelo (2-for-4, runs scored) and Machibroda (3-for-4, 2 runs scored) each drove in three runs on the day while Nix (3-for-5, 3 runs scored, HR, 2 RBI) and Presno (3-for-4, RBI, HR, 2 runs scored) also had big days at the plate for the Patriots.

Caraballo, the freshman left-hander from Montverde Academy, picked up the win in his first start for CF, allowing just two runs on five hits and struck out four in five innings of work.

CF will head on the road for a pair of away games against State College of Florida (Wednesday) and South Florida State College (Friday) before returning home for a Saturday matchup against Eastern Florida State College at 1 p.m.
