#CFBASEBALL RALLY FALLS SHORT IN 9TH AT SCF

OCALA--College of Central Florida baseball team's rally fell short against FCSAA No. 4 State College of Florida –Manatee, falling 8-7 on the road in Bradenton on Wednesday evening.

CF (4-4) found themselves down 8-4 heading into the ninth inning.

A single and an error set up two on and one out for Luis Medina, who crushed a three-run homer to center field to bring the Patriots to within one.  SCF was able to get CF to strike out and ground out to end its comeback.

Medina finished the night 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Transfer Yorvis Torrealba also had a big day at the plate for the Patriots with a lead off double in the first inning and a solo home run in the second inning. He finished 3-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored.

On the mound, Mark Potter allowed four earned runs on eight hits and struck out five in five innings in the loss. 

The Patriots will continue their road tour with a game at South Florida State College of Friday and another at Eastern Florida State College on Saturday.
