#CFBASEBALL UNABLE TO OVERCOME FOUR RUN 4TH INNING

OCALA--The College of Central Florida baseball team dropped its second game in a row, falling 8-4 to Hillsborough Community College on Monday afternoon at Goodlett Field.

CF got on the board first with a solo home run by second baseman Ricky Presno in the bottom of the second inning.

HCC countered with four runs of their own in the top half of the third inning.

CF left-handed pitcher Brenden Kudlinski found himself in a jam after striking out the first batter in the third. A walk and a single put two on with one out. A line drive to center drove in the first HCC batter and kept two on. Three consecutive walks and a fielder's choice later put the Hawks ahead 4-1 before reliever Josh Harper came in to strike out the final batter and close out the inning.

The Patriots tried to rally, scoring a run in the sixth and two in the eighth, but HCC added insurance runs in the fourth, sixth and ninth innings counter CF's efforts.

Presno (3-for-4, 2 RBI, HR) and Christian Smallwood (1-for-4, RBI, run scored) led CF at the plate.

Kudlinski walked five and allowed four earned runs on two hits and struck out three in 2 1/3 innings of work in the loss.

CF will head on the road for the remainder of the week. The Patriots will travel to State College of Florida-Manatee on Wednesday, South Florida State College on Friday, and Eastern Florida State College on Saturday.
