OCALA--The College of Central Florida baseball team scored 11 unanswered runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings to defeat South Florida State College on Friday afternoon.
CF entered the seventh inning down 5-0, but a pair of walks and an error would load the bases for Tyler Cameron and jump-start the Patriots' comeback. Cameron, Ricardo Jimenez and Will Reddick each singled in runs, with Reddick plating the tying run for the second game in a row.
Tied 5-5 in the eighth, Ben Koff drives in the go-ahead run on a hard-hit grounder to third base. The Patriots would go on to add five more insurance runs in the ninth to rally past the Panthers 11-5.
Pablo Toranzo came in relief in the sixth for starter Ryan Aspinwall, who gave up five earned runs on nine hits, and stifled the SFSC offense. Toranzo allowed just one hit and struck out eight in four, scoreless innings of work.
At the plate, Reddick, Jimenez and Cameron each drove in two runs.
CF returns to the field on Saturday when they host Eastern Florida State College. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
